OWWA and WRI Colleges are scholarship program partners
The WRI Colleges has been chosen by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) as one of its school/training institution partner in offering the OWWA Skills for Employment Scholarship Program (SESP) to qualified OFWs and their dependents.

SESP is a scholarship program geared towards the development of highly skilled and employable workers through career enhancing technical and vocational courses for their over-all economic gain. It offers a maximum amount of Php14,500 per course covering the cost of tuition/training fees, regardless of the duration of the training programs taken.

Scholars can choose from different course offerings based on the critical skills priorities of the respective regions as determined by TESDA. With this in mind, the WRI –Colleges of Naga, Iriga, Goa, Calabanga and Sorsogon are now accepting scholarship applicants for the following courses: Medical Transcription, Computer Programmer, Computer Hardware Servicing, Household Services and Animation courses.

According to OWWA, for an OFW member/dependent to avail of said scholarships, he must be an active OWWA member (land based or sea based) or beneficiary/dependent of an active OWWA member. Moreover, the OFW member should have at least one (1) recorded membership contribution. Three (3) additional membership contribution are required for subsequent availment. The beneficiaries/dependents may be children below 21 years old or a spouse of a married OFW; or a brother/sister below 21 years of age of an unmarried OFW.

Interested applicants may inquire at the OWWA Regional Welfare Office nearest them or at any of the following WRI Colleges Educational Centers, Naga (4728733), Iriga (4560259), Goa (4531508), Calabanga (4701840) and Sorsogon (4215484).
